This guide walks through creating a new product classification in Trade Insight AI, step by step.

1. Select your organization and workspace

Start from the dashboard and confirm you're in the correct organization and workspace. Classifications are scoped to the workspace they're created in.

2. Open Classification → New → Product

The New menu offers three options: Folder, Import package, and Product. Select Product to classify a single item. This opens the Product Classification window: describe the product, add files, pick jurisdictions, then save for later or run now.

3. Add a product image

Upload an image of the item. In this example, a black long-sleeve shirt with a graphic print.

4. Write the product description

The description field holds more than a short label. It can include material, construction, legal notes, or any detail that helps the classification engine work with precision. In this example: BLACK SHIRT - LOCHNESS LEGEND, LONG SLEEVE.

5. Name the classification

This name determines how the product appears in your classification listing. In this example: LOCHNESS SHIRT.

6. Select jurisdictions

Choose the jurisdiction (or jurisdictions) you need. United States and European Union are pinned by default, with additional jurisdictions available through search.

7. Run the classification

Once description, image, name, and jurisdiction are set, select Run classification.
