Trade Insight AI can classify a product from a written description, an image, a document, or any combination of these. You can start with whatever information you have on hand, and the more detail you provide, the more refined the classification results will be.

Step 1: Create a New Product

Click New in the top left corner and select Product. The Product Classification form opens.

Step 2: Enter the Product Name

In the Name field, type the product name, for example iPhone case. The name is optional. If you leave it blank, it defaults to the description.

Step 3: Add a Description and Instructions

In the Item Description & Instructions field, describe the product. You can also add any extra instructions the AI should follow, such as legal rules or guidelines, along with details about usage, materials, colors, or any other relevant characteristics. Additional context helps the AI deliver a more accurate result.

Step 4: Upload Supporting Files (Optional)

Under Files, upload images, PDFs, Word documents, Excel or CSV files, or text files. You can upload, drag and drop, or paste a screenshot. A classification can run from a product photo or document alone, but combining files with a written description produces the most refined results.

Step 5: Confirm Jurisdictions

Under Jurisdictions, review the jurisdictions the classification will run on. Your workspace defaults are preselected, and you can click Add to include more.

Step 6: Save or Run the Classification

Click Run classification to start immediately, or Save to keep the product and run it later. To continue, the form requires a description or at least one uploaded file.
